  1. What is a "Pandora Battery"?  A Pandora Battery is strictly speaking not a battery.  It is a tool used to put a PSP in service mode.  This enables you to install custom firmware.

  1. What does "unbricking" a PSP mean?  A bricked PSP is a PSP whose firmware is so corrupt/damaged that it will not start up.  Unbricking is the process of fixing the firmware in a bricked PSP.

  1. If I send you my PSP will you install the custom firmware for me? I do not offer this service anymore.

  1. How can I know if my Pandora Battery is working?  If you insert a Pandora Battery into your PSP and the green power light comes on, you have a 100% working Pandora Battery.

  1. What is the difference between the black "classic" Pandora Battery and the white 2-in-1/hybrid Pandora Battery?  The black "classic" Pandora Battery can be used to install custom firmware on both PSP1000 and PSP2000.  These batteries cannot be converted back to a regular battery.  It can only be used to install CFW.  The white 2-in-1/hybrid Pandora Battery can be used to install custom firmware on both PSP1000 and PSP2000 and it is also a regular battery for the PSP2000.

  1. Which Pandora should I buy - the black "classic" Pandora or the white 2-in-1 Pandora?  If you have a PSP1000 I'll buy the black "classic" Pandora Battery.  If you have a PSP2000 I'll buy a white 2-in-1 Pandora battery as it can be used both as a Pandora battery as well as a normal backup battery.

  1. Can I use my Pandora Battery after installing Custom Firmware?  If you have the white 2-in-1/hybrid Pandora battery and you have a PSP2000, you'll be able to use it as a normal battery.  If you have the black "classic" Pandora Battery, you won't be able to use it again as it is strictly speaking not a battery but a "tool" to put your PSP in service mode.  To play games after you've installed CFW you'll need to use a regular battery as a Pandora Battery will not let the PSP boot up normally.

  1. How do I recharge my Pandora Battery?  With the normal battery removed, plug in the AC mains adaptor.  Switch your PSP on and wait while it boots up.  Insert your Pandora Battery.  It will start to charge.

  1. I have a white 2-in-1 Pandora battery.  When I press the button it shows 0/1/2/3 blue lights.  What should I do?  The number of blue lights indicates the battery's charge level.  0 lights - 0% charged, 1 light - 25% charged, 2 lights - 50% charged, 3 lights - 75% charged.  Just charge this battery the same way as a normal battery.

  1. I have a PSP2000 & I've bought the "classic" black Pandora Battery.  It is too fat for my PSP and the battery cover can't close.  What do I do now? The "classic" fat Pandora Battery will work with the slim PSP2000 even though you won't be able to close the battery cover.  You'll use this Pandora for a few minutes and then never again.  When going through the process, ensure that the battery won't fall out by securing it by hand.  If it does fall out while going through the process, you might brick your PSP.

  1. Is it difficult/complicated to install custom firmware on my PSP?  You need a pandora battery, a pro duo memory stick and a PSP.  You then need to convert the pro duo memory stick into a magic memory stick and then follow a procedure to install the custom firmware.  This can be a daunting task if you've never done anything like this before.  The easiest way is to buy a Pandora battery and a magic memory stick from us.  The magic memory stick has Despertar del Cementario v6 installed, allowing the installation of 5.00 M33 firmware.  We include easy step-by-step instructions to help you get it right.  Take a look at the two packages we offer.

  1. Can I damage my PSP while installing custom firmware?  The worse thing you can do is brick your PSP.  Also note that installing custom firmware MAY void your PSP’s Sony warranty so proceed at your own risk.

  1. What firmware is on your Magic Memory Sticks?  The Magic Memory Sticks have Despertar del Cementario v6 installed, allowing the installation of 5.00 M33 firmware. Credit goes to Team M33 and Dark Alex.

  1. I've bought a normal memory stick and need to convert it into a Magic Memory Stick.  How do I copy files to it?  You'll download the files to your computer.  You'll copy the files to the memory stick by connecting your PSP to your computer via USB or by using a card reader.  You can get a cheap one form here

  1. I have Vista on my computer.  Does it matter?  You'll need a computer to download the files to make a magic memory stick.  The easiest way to make a magic memory stick from a Vista computer is to use a card reader.  You can get a cheap one form here

  1. Will the process work on both fat and slim PSP's?  This process can be used to downgrade all PSP1000's as well as most PSP2000's.  It won't work on PSP2000 with the updated TA-088v3 motherboard.  It does not work on the PSP3000.  Read FAQ 19 for more information.

  1. Why do I get an error when trying to run a game from the Memory Stick?  If you are trying to launch an ISO/CSO/DAX file using custom firmware you need to either insert any game UMD in the drive or set UMD emulation to "Sony NP9660" or "M33 Driver". This can be set either from the recovery menu when turning on the PSP (hold down R-Trigger while the switching on the PSP and while it boots up) or from the VSH menu (press the Select button on the console, go down to "UMD ISO MODE" and select "M33 driver", go down to "Exit" and press the X-button).

  1. I've installed CFW 5.00 m33 and now my PSP is giving me an error or my PSP is very slow.  What should I do?  If you are trying to launch an ISO/CSO/DAX file using custom firmware you need to either insert any game UMD in the drive or set UMD emulation to "Sony NP9660" or "M33 Driver". This can be set either from the recovery menu when turning on the PSP (hold down R-Trigger while the switching on the PSP and while it boots up) or from the VSH menu (press the Select button on the console, go down to "UMD ISO MODE" and select "M33 driver", go down to "Exit" and press the X-button).

  1. How do I tell if my PSP-2000 has the updated TA-088v3 motherboard?  Without opening up your PSP there are two ways to tell if your PSP-2000 can be flashed with Custom Firmware.

    • Official firmware version installed at the factory:
      • If your PSP-2000 came with Official firmware version 3.95 or below installed then it can be flashed with custom firmware, even if you have upgraded it to a higher version since buying it
      • If your PSP-2000 came with Official firmware version 4.01 or above installed then it cannot be flashed with custom firmware

    • Barcode label on the cardboard box:
      • If the box label shows a single letter F or lower (E, D, C, B, A or none) then your PSP can be flashed with custom firmware.
      • If the box label shows a single letter G plus a white circle then your PSP can probably be flashed with custom firmware, unless it came with Official firmware 4.01 installed.
      • If the box label shows a single letter G plus a black circle then your PSP cannot be flashed with custom firmware.
